Timberwolves advance to Western Conference Finals 4-1! Edwards' 22+12 marks perfect milestone, Randl
Timberwolves Defeat Warriors 121-110 at Home, Advance to Western Conference Finals 4-1
Edwards hit a milestone, becoming the sixth-youngest player in NBA history to reach 1,000 playoff points (23 years, 232 days). The game itself was a comfortable win—the Wolves led by 21 after three quarters, and though the Warriors cut it to 12 in the fourth, Minnesota quickly pulled away again.
Curry remained sidelined, while the 36-year-old Butler looked sluggish in the first quarter, going 0-for-1 with just 2 points and 2 assists. Every time he touched the ball, the Minneapolis crowd booed him mercilessly. Podziemski (6 pts) and Kuminga (9 pts) were the Warriors' bright spots early. For the Wolves, Gobert was perfect (4-for-4, 8 pts), Randle added 5 pts, McDaniels and Reid each had 4, and Edwards contributed 3 pts, 4 assists, 1 rebound, 1 steal, and 2 blocks—effortless dominance from the pack.
In the second quarter, the Wolves' offense exploded. Conley hit back-to-back threes, forcing a timeout from Kerr. Randle put on a show with 10 points and 4 assists, while Gobert dominated Draymond in the paint. Even with Edwards not yet in full attack mode, Minnesota stretched the lead to 15. Butler had 8 pts at halftime, while Kuminga (11 pts) and Podziemski (9 pts) kept the Warriors somewhat afloat.
Pods had a mini breakout in the third, scoring 10 straight points (4-for-4) to cut the deficit to 12, but the Wolves responded immediately with a 4-0 run—capped by a Gobert dunk—forcing another timeout. By the end of the quarter, Edwards had a quiet 14 pts but dished out 9 assists, Randle was up to 21-6-4, and five Wolves were in double figures. Meanwhile, Podz, Kuminga, and Butler struggled to keep pace as Minnesota led by 21.
The Warriors opened the fourth with a 13-4 run to trim the lead to 12, but Edwards (who rested for 4 minutes) returned and hit a clutch three after Moody’s triple. McDaniels then came up with a steal and dunk to push it back to 14. Kuminga’s dunk made it 13 with 2:45 left, but Randle answered with a drive, Podz missed an and-1 attempt, Edwards swatted Kuminga, and Conley sealed it with free throws.
